Speaker 3Hey, today's uh episode is all about fights. So we're calling it CSK's Fight Club. Yeah. Unless the producers come up with something more creative than CSK's Fight Club. But that leads me to the next naming that we recently named an event that's very popular with our staff. We don't know if people out there are doing what our staff is doing, but we're calling it CSK's Booze Cruise. And every time you hear a magic word, which someone will share with you, you drink.

Fight Club Theme And Drinking Game
Speaker 1there was four mentions of quarantine. And before you think that's not much in 40 minutes, we mentioned the four times in quarantine, like within two minutes.
Speaker 3So that would mean that's consistent with the guy with the 33 drinks lawsuit deal. Yes. He was like a drink every minute.
Speaker 1Because that means it basically means four shots, probably within four minutes, and then there was no more. You had time to recover for the remaining part of the podcast.

Speaker 3For your behavior. As some people are apparently because they're fighting. So I was excited to look at into this, right? And identify kind of what the what fights are happening. And I was surprised at how many actually happened. And how many are actually recently happening. So in my research, the they don't happen that often.
Speaker 1We sure are hearing about them every week.
Speaker 3Right. So some strange things seem to be happening out there, right? Because the one that there's actually one that you clued me in that happened even more recent that was I didn't I think because I was doing homework on this one, that one had a was you know right in play while I was
Nassau Port Brawl Goes Off Ship
Speaker 3probably reading about the one that I think is the most current, which happens to be this Nassau Port police station brawl that occurred on I think it was the 9th or 10th of June. Um so there are five people that got into an altercation. This is off ship.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's new. You know, it's usually on the ship. Now we're like taking it off.
Speaker 3And a lot, but a lot of them are off ship, which is we a lot of them like either you're getting on or you're getting off. And then, or in this case, you're on the port. Crazy. I don't understand why it's all there. You would think it'd be on the ship, right like right next to the bar, because most of this is alcohol oriented, right?
Speaker 1True. Well, I mean, whatever the underlying first reason is, it it's it does involve alcohol. We should look into if anybody's ever done a cruise like with zero alcohol, and you know, they probably don't have any problems.
Speaker 3Yeah, or maybe that's that passenger that thought that there was alcohol available and didn't find out until they're way out at sea, and they're not happy. They're combative. All right, so anyway, this Nassau event, um, five people, they're all between the ages of 19 and 27. So this is a young group. Um, I don't know what at what point in the itinerary this occurred. But it really doesn't matter, right? Because everybody's in vacation head. And if you're in your 20s, you're way in vacation head. And and they admitted they were drinking, so we know alcohol was involved.
Speaker 1I'm shocked.
Speaker 3But at 445, the police respond to the port area to break up a fight. Now, somebody did capture this on video because you know, where there's drama like this, there's someone that wants to get that social media credit, right? They're gonna they're gonna videotape that. So somebody did, and you really just see bodies getting shoved to the ground. It's really hard to determine like who's doing what to whom and why. You don't even know. As a matter of fact, we don't even know why how this fight or the reasons behind this fight breaking out. But there's five of them, right? And the so the police come, break them up, take them off to the police station, but it's at the police station where things got really south. So they get these people in, and now they're processing them. They're all Americans, all from Colorado. And uh I don't understand the association necessarily with someone from Colorado getting in an altercation versus someone from Florida. I I don't think it really is. Yeah, maybe when you come down from that high, down to down to uh uh sea level, something happens to your brain. But in any event, clearly something happened to their brain because they get taken back to the police station, and that's where well now they're getting searched, right? Asked questions, and they become compatible with the police officers and hurt four of them. One fully dislocated his shoulder, and so he had to go to the hospital. Another had a cut in the mouth. One of the the out of the five, there were uh let's see, one female, two, looks like two females, three, no, I take that back. Yeah. Uh three males, two females. One of the females, remember, they're between 19 and 27. In the video, they all look like teenagers to me. And they're pretty petite looking to me. But one of the females hucks a chair right through the glass door of the police station. One of the males thinks that this is his opportunity to escape. So he tries to you know kit the glass out of the window, and he gently, in the video, it's kind of funny because I here I am imagining, you know, this young guy like diving through the open window because he's trying to escape.
Police Station Chaos And Injured Officers
Speaker 3Right. Right? This was a clear dead giveaway that this guy had too much to drink. Because he's gingerly kind of trying to get a get out of the glass window. And conveniently, as he's exiting, he has no idea that there's this other guy who I don't think he was a police officer. I think he's just coming to the to the aid of the of the officers, right? Here and all the rusk ruckus. He just shows up and just grabs this little guy as he comes out of the door. So he wasn't going anywhere. So his quote, attempted escape was was really a poor escape.
Speaker 1It's like uh slow motion trying to get through the the window.
Speaker 3We really was watching the video, I was like, that's yeah, well, we'll call that an escape. You know, it's like it was really funny. So, anyway, so these people get um uh obviously get punished, right? And they there there really aren't a lot of quotes. Even the embassy was asked for quotes, and no one really wanted to say anything because what are you gonna say?
Speaker 1Isn't it true that they won't even say what cruise ship they were on? What cruise line?
Speaker 2Uh I thought that was no, I don't remember I don't know that.
Speaker 1I read they wouldn't they wouldn't say, you know, and everyone's speculating, oh, it's gotta be carnival, and they're like, they're not saying what cruise.
Speaker 3No, no, yeah, they did not because it's it's it all occurred away from the ship, so it doesn't really matter. But I know where you're going with this. Yeah, because we know when we saw when we see these fights that we were researching, nine times out of ten you're gonna see it's carnival. Yeah. And we all and we know we learned that the majority of fights break out on these three to five day, you call them booze cruises.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 3Right? Yeah, that's what they're there. So this makes total sense. So for those of you that are thinking of doing a three to five day, bring bring your gloves. Bring, yeah.
Speaker 1Take some taekwondo lessons.
Speaker 3There you go. Yeah, you never know what could happen. So anyway, so they get that they're they they get arrested, detained, and then they get um they they all plead guilty. So they go in front of the magistrate, plead guilty, and they basically say, Hey, we were drunk. We were intoxicated at the time.
Speaker 1No, not an excuse, but you know, I like that they actually took accountability and pled guilty because you know, sometimes you hear these things and they're like, not guilty. You know, like the kid that killed his sister, not guilty, you know. So that's good at least.
Speaker 3It is good. And but are they so one of the girls, this must be the one that hucked the chair, Daniela Durin, 22. She was fined $16,600 or one year in prison. So she had an option. I know if I'm in Colorado, I'm thinking Obama's Colorado. You know, I guess it might be but prison, no. Anyway, so anyway, she's got to pay that. If they don't pay, then yeah, they're they're gonna go to jail.
Speaker 1I think if they're about to ask their parents to borrow some money, the parents are gonna be like, just take the one-year uh jail.
Speaker 3Well, she she's also getting hit with a $2,500 compensation to a Corporal Michelle and a hundred and twenty-five fine to a PC Hanschel. So I'm probably butchering that person's name, so I apologize. But so she looks like it looks like she's paying the lion share, so it looks like she was really that instigator. Then Gabriella um Aguilar, 27-year-old, $11,600 or six months. She gets half the amount of time. $125 to this PC Hanschel, and then Jalen Duran, 19-year-old, $11,600 or six months. $125 goes to this this uh PC Hanschel, and then Andrew uh has to pay $4,600 or a year. Irvin has to pay $2,800. So there's that's the five, right? And Irvin actually has to compensate $2,500 to this corporal Michelle. I think Irvin and Danielle are the ones that hurt the guy with the shoulder injury. Uh and somebody's Apple Watch got damaged.
Guilty Pleas, Fines, And Jail Options
Speaker 3I'm wondering if that's what the $125 is going.
Speaker 1So if your kids came to you, these were your kids, and they came to you, would you be like, just do the six months? I'm not, I can't give you this money to pay. Would you would you let them borrow the money, or would you say just do your six months?
Speaker 3That's a really good question.
Speaker 1The Bahamian Jail
Speaker 3I'm on the fence, I'm on the fence on that one. Because yeah. I I I would want them to sweat it out. Right? You'd want to say, can I call you back? Right? Can it can I call you back?
Speaker 1I gotta think about this one minute.
Speaker 3Yeah. What's the time difference? Can I call you can I go in the morning? Right? Just let them sweat it out. Um But it'd be it'd be a high interest, right? You want to say, oh no, you're I'm making money on you on this one. Or just go to jail.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 3I'm kind of curious if my if some of my kids would actually say, I'm just gonna do the jail.

Speaker 3I could see Lindsay doing, I'm just gonna do the jail. Just just just despite, okay, fine, you're not gonna do it, I'm doing jail. All right, fine, go for it. Um, so the fit the sixth person, though, is a 50-year-old guy who's just fined 150 bucks or a month in prison for obstruction. So somehow he got in the mix. I don't know when, I don't know where, I don't know how. The video, I don't think it's the guy with that that that captured the escape, the escapee, which didn't look like much, he was obstructing anybody other than just kind of containing the situation from the outside. But um, but that's it. So on social media, the comments um on this story were now a lot of people were saying the cruise lines have to punish these people. But this all did this occurred off the ship. So I don't think that has anything, I don't think they have anything to do with this. So you can't you can't hold them to account, right? For this particular thing. But um everybody was saying these people got off light. I mean, they tear the police station apart, resist arrest, hurt four officers, right? I don't think there was like eight officers or ten officers in the room. So I think they're like everybody got injured. They even got a little injured. Um, so I
Should Fighters Be Banned For Life
Speaker 3think they got off light. What do you think?
Speaker 1Well, the problem is they could actually get on another cruise then.
Speaker 3Yeah. Well, and go to another port and cause the same mayhem.
Speaker 1Yes, or even on a ship.
Speaker 3So so some since remember we started by saying how many fights we we see occurring. Well, apparently other people are detecting that same trend. And they are that that's in part why this kind of momentum of um banning people. Like the there's like a low tolerance, like a zero tolerance attitude right now of you know, if this kind of stuff happens, it's pretty simple. We can find you and we can kick you off for life, or just kick you off for life and you can't go on any boat.
Speaker 1Yes, I like that idea.
Speaker 3Why not? It does make sense. But it has to be a significant event, right?
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 3Because you know you can get, we we talked about how you can get fined for smoking. And there can be no proof. So if you get in an altercation with somebody and you're defending yourself, should you get thrown off? And who makes that determination? When the ship when the crew can basically say, we don't really care who started it. You know, they do the whole principal thing like at elementary school. I don't care who started it, you're both on detention.
Speaker 1Yeah, if you're defending yourself, I I think it you they're gonna have to look at how long that went on. Uh if that turned into a back and forth or you know, you just punch somebody once like don't touch me or whatever. There's a difference on how far the fight went, I guess, how long.
Speaker 3I think if there's doubt, you get like a like since we're in World Cup season right now, you get a yellow card. Right? So we we can't tell you, you know, we just know you were involved in the brawl, yellow card, both of you yellow cards, right? So now you got on your on your cruise card a yellow. You get another yellow, and then the next one is a red, and you're that's it, you're done. But there should they should keep a history. Why wouldn't they keep a history?
Speaker 1They should, right?
Speaker 3I mean, then that kind of satisfies the hardliners, and that also satisfies the people that are like, well, I can't determine who who who did what. All right, we solved that problem. Okay, we're solving them all, you know, the whole ink
Petty Triggers That Start Cruise Fights
Speaker 3in the water for the lost souls and whatever. Okay. What's in that what is what's this fight story that you got?
Speaker 1I just have a couple ones I'm gonna touch on that that I, you know, I was kind of wondering what's the silliest things people have gotten to a fight over. Um, and the main thing that comes up are like silent triggers like the chair hog people, the buffet line etiquette, you know, people are cutting in line, touching food with unwashed hands, um, you know, which is resulting in a lot of a lot of shouting, food throwing. So um one of the ones, because all of these just kind of remind me of the Jerry Springer show, you know, you'd have guests on and they're throwing chairs and all of that. It's just all of them remind me of this. But there's one where um these two women got into a slapping fight on who had the correct priority status to stand in the VIP line and guest services. And I I've I've not ever seen a fight or an argument on a ship before, but like I could see myself standing there being mesmerized, like, you know, oh snap, she just hit this lady upside the head, and now the lady's retaliating and they're going at it over the VIP line. So I would just be kind of like, this is great as long as nobody gets hurt. But I would be standing there watching.
Speaker 3Um But let me ask you this have you all these places, hotels, all of them have these resorts, all have these kind of VIP lines. Even the airport.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 3When you get on, right? You know, they got the aisle for priority and not priority, right? You can't tell me that you've been in those lines and you are one of those people. And then the person that suddenly was next, and they go up and they get there only to be told, oh, that's for priority customers, but I'll still take you. And you're like, okay, wait a minute. Why am I even bothering with this?
Speaker 1Right.
Speaker 3I guarantee everybody out there has had that experience.
Speaker 1I don't know.
Speaker 3This lady was like, that's it. I'm taking I'm taking this in my own hands. Literally, I'm gonna slap this lady.
Speaker 1Well, you know, there's different levels, you know, of colors and stuff. So I was like, oh, is she like, you know, you're not diamond, you're sapphire. Get over into the other line and just I don't even know why that would escalate, but into a slap fight, I'm saying. An arguing, yeah. Then uh then there was this one with five women from Tampa who got into a huge fight at 2 a.m. over chicken tenders. And they're throwing chairs and punches, they're dragging each other across the floor. And the guy, this guy starts filming because he just went in to get a piece of pizza, and he's like trying to calm them down, and he's like, hey, let's just all go get, you know, some pizza. But apparently it's like ride or die on the chicken tenders, and they just continued, so he continued filming till the security people got there. There's I mean, there's food on these ships 24-7. No one should ever get in a fight on a cruise over food. I just can't even, you know, like what are you guys thinking?
Speaker 3Seriously, that's definitely alcohol involvement.
Speaker 1Yes. Then there was uh a midnight pizza station where passengers started destroying and throwing plastic chairs because they're fighting over the last slice of pizza. Another, you know, midnight thing where I'm already in bed for two hours, which you know, it's it's another example of why you should be in bed at 10 p.m. You can avoid all the craziness. And then I think you and I talked about well, I wonder how many elderly people have been in fights, and there have been a few, um, but for the most part not fights that that they've really caused. They're just kind of the victim of some fights. But this one, um, on a Norwegian cruise line, this 67-year-old uh elderly man and an attorney got into an argument about a closed hallway. And the man told the attorney, you know, you can't go down there. Don't you go down there, that hallway's closed. And the attorney, you know, responded with, Who the F are you to tell me what to do? Followed by Kapow. He like knocked the guy unconscious and he needed like CPR.
Speaker 3Before the guy could respond and say, I'm a judge. Okay, so he didn't give him a shot. Yeah. So he's no idea who he is.
Speaker 1So, you know, I'm reading closed hallway, and I was like, first I thought, you know, oh, did he park his
Closed Hallway Argument Turns Deadly
Speaker 1scooter? You know, the old people have scooters. Did he park his scooter in the hallway and he's kind of blocking it? Because um that's a trigger for old people. My my mom has just started a smear campaign the size of Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni in her retirement home against this lady that just moved in next to her. She's got two scooters outside, a walker, a couch, uh, two chairs, and my mom is over there yelling at her, like, we can't get by, you need to put those in the house. And the lady goes, Oh no, these are staying right here. So my mom's got, you know, the manager involved, the office people, the maintenance man, the cleaning lady, uh all the people in Villa Two, you know, that live near her.
Speaker 2Oh my god.
Speaker 1And uh she's like so erked up about it. Like I said to Dave, when the phone rings, I'm expecting that. Will you accept a call from Arizona State Prison? Your mother needs bail money.
Speaker 3But you know, old people they're And if she ends up getting getting arrested for that, you you gotta go pick her up riding a scooter. Hop on the back.
Speaker 1Oh, and and the lady scooter.
Speaker 3This is punishment. Yeah, I mean scooter. She she loaned me the scooter to pick you up.
Speaker 1Yeah. So like, you know, the elderly people are all about rules. You know, rules. So this poor man is like, you can't go down that hallway, it's closed. He's trying to block the door, and and then he's knocked unconscious. So um, yeah.
Speaker 3Well, that's incentive to avoid being the old guy that's yelling, get off my grass.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 3No, no guy wants to be the old guy yelling, get off my grass. I haven't met any guy that's like, I can't wait until I'm 60, where I can yell at those kids to get off my grass. No one does that.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 3But you end up transforming into that.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 3This guy clearly transformed into that. He didn't even know it, I bet.
Speaker 1I think the message is, you know, just keep your mouth shut and don't even say, you know, if they're going down the closed hallway, let them go.
Speaker 3Yeah, you don't know.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 3Well, the the um one of the fights that I uh thought was interesting was because I you would think like the the the captain would turn a ship around. Oh yeah. If it was like a major, you know, like, oh my god, a thousand passengers are in a riot, you know, sh were turning around. But apparently a couple guys got into a vergal verbal argument, started escalating into a fight. They were already out at
Captain Turns The Ship Around
Speaker 3sea um when this had had occurred. And you know, I mean that's that's a big deal. You know, you've left port, all the stuff that the guys have to do to get the ship out. Now you're out at sea, so now we're in cruise control. It's like, okay, here we go. And then these Nimnuts get into a fight. And the ship's captain says, I'm turning this thing around. I'm I'm taking you kids home. No more vacation for you. Yeah. And and went back. And and that had to infuriate everybody, right? Like everybody must have been asking, why are we turning around? What's going on? And there, you know, people worry about, oh great, the ship's broken, you know, and you can imagine the rumors that were just cycling as this thing was making a U-turn, right? Crazy. And then, of course, that probably delays things in some way, shape, or form, right?
Speaker 1So they went back and then went back out after they Yeah, they just dumped them off and said, Here, sheriff, take care of these two, would you? They they do that, they've done that in planes a few times, but uh it's much harder, I think, on a ship to turn a ship around than a plane. Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3Yeah, yeah, no, plant well, planes for sure. And that seems to be also on the increase. You notice that?
Speaker 1Mm-hmm.
Speaker 3That's also on the increase. I think people's patients are just like super, super thin. So, did you have any more stories?
Speaker 1No, that was that was my, you know, silly stories of getting in a fight.
Speaker 3So I had that since like we since I was seeing what you were seeing, this like increase in fights. I naturally asked, are are these even recorded? Like, do these get reported in some way, shape, or form? And what I
What Cruise Crime Must Be Reported
Speaker 3was able to find was something that was really interesting because I have seen this before. I know I keep mentioning this, this cruise vessel security and safety act uh 2010. I mean, this thing, you know, that act we've talked about before in the past was pretty significant legislation to try to curb some of the stuff that was happening on these ships, people going missing, you know, and uh uh what's her name? Um Amy Bradley, you know, um even that I can't even remember his name now. But there's been several incidents that kind of caught the attention of legislatures and the public and say, you gotta do something about this, these cruise lines, this is like out of control, crazy, right? So that act really, really did something there. But part of that was a requirement that any of these ships that touch, uh disembark or embark, you know, have U.S. touch points. Any, well, there's eight categories of incidences that have to be reported to the FBI. Uh homicide, suspicious death, missing U.S. national, kidnapping, assault with serious bodily injury, sexual assault, firing or tampering with the vessel. That's interesting. Theft of money or property in excess of ten thousand dollars. So all cruise lines, again, you have to have a U.S. touch point. So if you're so this is if there's a European line that's doing their business out there, they they're who knows if they're recording. Okay. And who they're reporting that to, but but here, this gets under this act, this gets reported to the Department of Transportation, and there's a quarterly report that reports out the numbers per cruise line about what's happened. And what I was what I was interested in was certainly, okay, well, maybe these fights are falling under assault with serious bodily injury. And there really weren't that many of those incidents. The the things that really stood out to me was that in from 2023 to 2026, a huge increase in sexual assaults. In that time period, somewhere the Department of Transportation changed the category to be actually two categories: sexual assault, sexual assault, rape. So they actually kind of segmented that one out. But the numbers are pretty, pretty high. And I know you looked at this too. The the theft part also intrigued me that how many incidents occur where there's theft above $10,000 in value. And I guess not too surprised given there's probably people bringing expensive jewelry on for their night out or whatever the case may be, right? But I was really surprised by that. The other thing they reported by was passenger and crew. So, and again, I I think the most important part of this is these are all allegations. We don't know if these things actually happened, right? But they just have to report it when these things happen. Now, in addition to that, what about fights? They keep, each ship is required under this law to keep a logbook of any criminal incidents that occurs. They don't have to report that until it becomes part of public data. But if um you know, a legal authority, you know, like the sheriff or whatnot, um, requests it, they have to provide it. And you saw you you picked up on this too, didn't you?
Speaker 1Yeah, um, I was just kind of looking for the past last year what the stats were. Um and it, you know, it includes all cases, like you said. So I saw there's like 181 cases and 60 of those were for fighting. So not the other things you just talked about, the theft and and then the other interesting thing I thought was um I was surprised to learn that the Disney cruise line uh is the uh has the highest rate of sexual assault on it, which people I don't think people would think that at all. And it's because they were saying um,
Fight Stats And Surprising Safety Data
Speaker 1you know, Disney's touted as a family-friendly cruise, and so it gives people a false sense of safety on there and that they've had some problems with improper crew vetting also. I know a lot of their crew members um last year I think got arrested.
Speaker 3We're gonna take the data that the Department of Transportation makes available. So we've got data from 2010 to 2026. So since they kind of modified some of the collection categories early on, we'll normalize that and look across all of that and kind of answer the question of like, is you know, what's really the risk factor here? Because there are more you see more incidents on Carnival and Royal, but there are also more passenger days. There's also more boats, more ships. Yeah. And boats. There's they probably have smaller ones. But anyway, it it has to anyway. The the the the the the fact is is that we can't really say one's worse than the other without really leveling the plane field, right? And just saying, okay, let's apply a million passenger days for everybody, and therefore what's the what's this kind of ranking, you know, what's the risk number that would be assigned to that. So we're gonna do that at CS Gate and see what we come up with.
Speaker 1Okay, that'll be good.
Speaker 3Yeah, it'd be interesting to see. Interesting. I don't I don't I don't know of anybody that's doing something like that. I don't know how meaningful that is. And I think you also said, brought up a good point, which is really, you know, what does get reported? You know, what what's the threshold? Like, do they they all get together and go, okay, yeah, that one's worth it. Let's put it up there. Because they all must view it as a little mark on the record, right?
Speaker 1Mm-hmm. They don't, um, they don't we were uh you know asking, do they share information with each other and and um they don't unless someone's been banned on their cruise line from um being on a cruise, then then there's the list that we talked about. There's a list for all the ships, like so they they know they can't go to another cruise line. And it's like I think I read like if you get banned on Carnival, you get banned on all of their sister ships that's uh owned by the same company, which includes like Holland America and Seaborne and um Princess. But then the ships outside of that, uh they will tell the other cruise lines if someone's banned because they don't want to they don't want to make it unsafe for for them either by letting someone on that they've banned that they didn't know was banned.
Speaker 3Do you think that you know when you get on a cruise, they make you feel like you're a million bucks? Right? Everything like you if you win the the scavenger hunt, you know, you get like this fancy certificate and a water bottle, right?
Speaker 1Yeah, the water bottle.
Speaker 3Do you think that the people that get like booted like for life? Yeah, get like a fancy like black certificate that you can hang up on your wall that like you know, like I'm a no I'm a danger, I'm a no-go cruise person, I've won I've won the award.
Speaker 1I mean it's a mark on you, but uh I think they get one with the face with the fingers where you do the all the watch. Oh, I yeah, we're watching. We're watching you certificate.
Speaker 3That's exactly what they get. Yeah. I do I I think princess would strip your medallion. Like right as you're leaving the boat, they're like, you can't have your medallion anymore. Pull it right off. You know what? Take that shirt off.
Speaker 1I I gotta read because you just brought something up. I saw, I didn't really read it yet. But Princess, I think it's having
Ban Lists, Sister Lines, And Surveillance
Speaker 1a medallion um uh what do you call it?
Speaker 3Marathon?
Speaker 1No, where you can turn them in to be recycled. So I'm wondering if they're not gonna do that anymore. Or, you know, like I have a drawer full of them. Maybe it's bring your old medallions and recycle them. Really? Yeah. That's part of the part of the thing though. You gotta keep that.
Speaker 3Okay. Do you have to turn them in if you're banned? Turn in all your stuff because we don't want you associated with our brand anymore.
Speaker 1Probably.
Speaker 3Oh man.
Speaker 1And your scavenger winnings.
Speaker 3So how how are we doing on time?
Speaker 1We're a little over. So um I guess I can give the updates real quick from the past podcast. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So the first one is about Anna Keppner's brother. On June 15th, he turned himself in to be taken into custody um due to what the prosecution calls a level of psychopathy and lack of remorse. So he is in a Florida County jail right now, and by July 10th, he's supposed to be transferring to a juvenile facility until his trial begins. So they've deemed him that they think he's dangerous and he needs to be not staying with his uncle anymore and be in jail.
Speaker 3I think everybody's like, yeah, that's a no-brainer.
Speaker 1Yeah, and then the second update uh is on the the uh Hantavirus cruise ship. Uh that has gone out again, went out June 13th, came back today, and is heading out today again on the another voyage. And um, I don't know if you know about this app called Cruise Mapper, but you can go to Cruise Mapper and put in any ship and it will show you the location of where they are.
Speaker 3And how many are on, right?
Speaker 1No. Oh, I thought they did that. But uh it's in Norway
Case Updates And Hantavirus Answers
Speaker 1right now. Um and it's gonna be in Norway for a while. So they will not be going back to Argentina until November. But it was funny, I was trying to find out. You know, last time I was like, how many people are going on this cruise? They will not tell you how many people went on the first cruise after the ship got disinfected. They're not they're just not giving out the information. So it could be five people, it could be 80 people.
Speaker 3Or it's 100% full.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 3Probably all podcasters. Probably all content creators are on the boat right now looking for trouble. That's why they're not saying it.
Speaker 1Maybe.
Speaker 3Yeah, we've got a full boat with people that don't care about the the dump with the birds.
Speaker 1The dump with the birds.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 1Oh, and then I so I just wrote this down because uh last time you were saying, Oh, we're doing we're doing so good on all of our homework, and then you know, we're laughing about, well, do you know where the word hanta comes from? And we're like, no. And you're like, I can't believe neither one of us said, well, where does it come from? And I'm like, well, is it a Native American word? Um, it's not. Uh, it comes from the Hantan River in South Korea, because in the 70s there was a mystery illness that scientists were um trying to figure out what it was, and so they isolated a virus from a striped field mouse that was caught near the river, and that's where the term Hantavirus comes from.
Speaker 3And it's spelled a little differently.
Speaker 1For your inquiring minds wanting to know.
Speaker 3Yeah, no, that's I was curious. Yeah. Yeah, I had no idea where it came from. All right.
Speaker 1So um the other thing I was gonna say before you talk about what our next um podcast is on is despite all of our all of our little stories we tell, you know, I just want to say that cruising is still very fun for all the people who are scaring away from cruising. So Elvia and Jackie, if you're listening, you still you still need to go on a cruise.
Speaker 3For sure.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 3It puts all this in perspective, right? Yeah, because then when you're listening to our show, you're like, yeah, no kidding. How can somebody fall over the freaking rail? Or why would you sit on there at three in the morning? Yeah. Right? Yeah, you gotta go in order to really under appreciate that. And to see just exactly the what if, like, wow, what if I fell over? What would it's like, yeah, no kidding. This thing is not turning around quick. Yeah, you know? Yeah, absolutely. I agree with that. So the next show we're gonna talk about, we're gonna talk about our dictionary that we put together that you can put onto your phone, take it with you on your trip, and you've got all the lingo you need. Why Cruising Is Still Worth It
Speaker 3it because you gave me some new terms that I gotta update.
Speaker 1I just thought CSK should be on in the case.
Speaker 3CSK should definitely should be on. Oh, speaking of CSK, CSK, he's paying attention to everything we just talked about, the data.
Speaker 1Right. He he would never involve himself in a in a cruise ship fight because he he could get banned and then he wouldn't be able to get on board.
Speaker 3Right. And he's also looking like, oh, okay, so M MCS or MSC has few incidents happening here, so people are gonna feel safe. That's how I'm going on that boat next.
Speaker 1Right.
Speaker 3Okay, now everybody's like, oh great, I thought I was picking the right safe boat. No, you might not be. CSK could be there. He don't worry, he's a lounge singer. So just that's all you need to look for.
Speaker 1Or or a comedian.
Speaker 3Or she or she. I always say he.
Speaker 1I do too. It could be it could be a she.
Speaker 3Yeah, I've been seeing some crazy stuff on Netflix that it's like hair raising, it's all she's all right. So um, what was the what what else are we gonna talk about in the next episode?
Speaker 1We got the dictionary and the the Lynnette Hooker death, the lady who died in the Bahamas and she fell off the zodiac boat, and her husband said, you know, he couldn't get to her.
Speaker 3And was it a zodiac boat or a dinghy? Wasn't it a dinghy going back to the zodiac boat?
Speaker 1Maybe it's a dinghy.
Speaker 3I don't know it was not a dinghy. Okay, they're saying no, that's not a dinghy.
Speaker 1But yeah, there's all kinds of questions on that because a lot of people think that he uh did something to her.
Speaker 3The daughter being one of them.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 3For sure. Yeah, let's talk about that one because that's interesting.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 3And and then I'll just browse through there's got to be some other act action out there based on all this fight stuff. Jeez. All right, cool. We still need to have uh what's the the folks that want to share their fight story with us. Yes. I want to hear that. All right.
